Welcome to My Personal Page
Thanks for taking the time to read this and to consider donating to such a wonderful celebration of the MDSPCA's 150th year of helping pets and people in sharing a beautiful bonding of compassion and love.
The HARD WORK, DEDICATION, and LOVE that I witness at the shelter by the staff and volunteers is quite remarkable. I never realized this until I became a volunteer myself in the Cat Room and Ringworm Trailer.
While the Cat Room holds felines up for adoption, the Ringworm Trailer houses anywhere from 1 to 20+ cats and kittens who are healing from the contagious fungus known as Ringworm. The MDSPCA is one of the few shelters in Maryland equipped to evaluate, medically treat, monitor and continually test their progress.
I get to experience the great satisfaction of providing these FunGuys (get it?) (Thanks, Jaclyn) with enrichment activities to exercise their limbs, encourage them to eat, come out of hiding, calm their overactive behavior, socialize with humans and cage mates and generally have a rollicking good time. We play, talk, sing, read, and even hug (very carefully).
They are real rockers who are just waiting to heal and roll out of there and onto the CAT ROOM where they will join others up for adoption. They eventually find their FOREVER HOME , and are ready to spread their contagious JOY (not spores anymore) to their new family.
For these cats and all the animals at the shelter, from the cost of a major surgery to just having toys with which to play, it ALL MATTERS! That's why, despite the amount of your tax-deductible donation, we truly appreciate you for it.
I think the cat and kittens, the dogs and puppies, the staff and volunteers would all say that your helping in this way is "Pawsitively Meowvelous!"
